The Frenchman speaks on his role with the club in the future.
Raphael Varane recently spoke with beIN SPORTS (via AS) where talked about his role in the future at the club and his relationship with defensive partner Sergio Ramos.
"For the future, it’s difficult to plan. Real Madrid is a very, very big club with great players. What is important is that everyone plays their part in the team."
"When we won our titles, our Champions Leagues, it was as a team, with eleven leaders on the pitch each time."

Varane has established himself as one of the senior members of the squad. It’s a bit odd to think of him as a veteran when he’s still only 27, but his experience and success while starting at the club has made him so.
There’s no doubt that Varane will be looked upon for leadership when the eldest members of the squad, such as Ramos, Marcelo and Modric, have gone and retired. His current presence is valuable for both experience and quality.
The values he’s showed at Real have also translated to him being a leader with France in both present and future internationally. No doubt, he’s learned a lot about being a leader from his captain Sergio Ramos.
It wouldn’t be surprising to see Varane as captain of both Real Madrid and France in the future. He will be that true veteran presence when the squad continues maturing in both age and development.
For now, it is a privilege to watch a world class defender continue to work in his prime alongside a true legend of the club and game like Ramos.
