Zinedine Zidane makes Sergio Ramos transfer declaration after 100th Real Madrid goal

The defender made it a century of goals for Los Blancos during the 3-2 Champions League win over Inter Milan on Tuesday night.

Zinedine Zidane has claimed he has “no doubt” that Sergio Ramos will sign a new contract after scoring his 100th Real Madrid goal.

The Spaniard brought up a century of goals for Los Blancos during their 3-2 Champions League win over Inter Milan on Tuesday.

Ramos has less than a year left on his contract and could be available on a free transfer next summer.

But Zidane, whose side picked up their first European win of the season, believes there is little chance of the 34-year-old leaving the Bernabeu.

"As always, he is our captain, our leader," the Real Madrid boss said, following the game.

"We want him here forever, it is what he is doing, showing that he always wants to. I have no doubt that he will stay and that it will continue to make history."

Ramos hit the milestone during a first-half display that saw Real go 2-0 up over their Group B rivals.

After picking up just a point from their opening pair of games, the pressure was on Zidane’s men to pick up a positive result.

Goals from Karim Benzema and Ramos put the hosts in a commanding position, only to surrender the lead after strikes by Lautaro Martinez and Ivan Perisic.

However, with ten minutes remaining Rodrygo netted the winner to give the La Liga champions a foothold in this year’s competition.

After the win at Real's temporary home and training ground the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium, Ramos said the result was more important than his personal achievement.

"Individual records are secondary, but you like hitting them and as long as they keep on helping the side win, hopefully I can get a few more."

Ramos added: "It was a tough game, but we were able to get a good result in the end and secure three very important points."

"We knew it was a do-or-die game and when you are pegged back to a draw in a match you were winning, you need to push on. We'd let them off the hook a bit and in the Champions League you can't afford to do that."
