Odriozola and his agent are already looking for a new destination with both Milan clubs — Inter and AC — reportedly interested in the defender. Real Madrid would need an offer of €18 million just to break even on the €35 million transfer from 2018. If Real Madrid can afford to wait on the transfer fee, then a loan with an option to buy for €12 million could be another solution.
It seems the three year renewal of Lucas Vazquez has directly impacted the role Odriozola could play next season. After impressing for the majority of the 2020-2021 campaign in an unfamiliar right back role, Lucas Vazquez pushed Odriozola further down the pecking order. Now a third choice right back, the defender from San Sebastian makes a hefty €6.70 million annually (*Note: Salary numbers above are not official. At the current moment in time, Odriozola’s reported salary is not justified given his role within the team.
