Real Madrid Set To Sign Eduardo Camavinga On Transfer Deadline Day

Real Madrid will sign one of the biggest prospects in European football on Tuesday, with the arrival of Eduardo Camavinga iminent.

It's been a pretty quiet summer for Real as far as incomings go, with only David Alaba's move from Bayern Munich, following the end of his contract, to shout about.

There's been more high profile outgoings at the Bernabeu, with Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos amongst them, amidst talks the club were just preparing their finances to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer.

After a couple of rejected bids from PSG, it looks like the striker will stay in Ligue 1 for now, and Real can sign him to a pre contract agreement for next season in January.

However now it looks like they could use the money they'll save on Mbappe to sign another youngster from France, in the shape of Rennes midfielder Camavinga.

According to Twitter transfer legend Fabrizio Romano, it's already a 'here we go' situation, with the fee of €31 million plus add ons agreed and the medical completed.

Romano says that the deal will be made official on Tuesday, with the window closing the same day, and that Camavinga turned down the chance to sign for Manchester United and PSG.

Like Mbappe, the 18-year-old's contract was due to expire in less than a year's time, when he could leave on a free, but he wanted to leave this summer.

PSG were linked, despite already signing Georginio Wijnaldum in midfield this summer, as well as bringing in Ramos, Lionel Messi, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Achraf Hakimi.

United's need for a more defensive midfielder has been well documented all summer and was again brought to the front of everyone's minds on Sunday.

Despite the 1-0 win over Wolves, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team looked poor and there was particular criticism for Fred's performance in midfield, alongside Paul Pogba.

There lack of a player in that position was further highlighted by the fact that they have instead strengthened an already decent attack with the re-signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, which is also likely to be made official on Tuesday.

Real's midfield was in need of a bit of a refresh. Toni Kroos and Luka Modric are both mainstays of the team and are both currently out injured and in their 30s.

Camavinga will be around for quite some time and could be the bedrock of their midfield for the next decade and a half, a great signing for a good price.
