Liverpool are interested in signing Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio, according to Fichajes, as cited by Anfield Edition’s Twitter account.
It has been reported that the Reds could submit a £30 million bid for the 25-year-old come January 2022.
The report further adds that Asensio is open to a new challenge and Real Madrid are prepared to let him depart the club.
Asensio has been a very good player for Real Madrid. The winger has scored 37 goals and registered 22 assists in 196 appearances for the Spanish giants.
Also, Asensio is only 25 years of age. Therefore, the Spaniard’s career is far from finished.
We believe that Asensio would add quality and depth to Liverpool’s attack. Therefore, we would love to see the club make a move for the forward come January.
It is important to note that Mohamed Salah (Egypt) and Sadio Mane (Senegal) are set to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The aforementioned tournament takes place between January-February 2022. Asensio would provide a bit of short and long-term cover for both Salah and Mane.
