Real Madrid are reportedly interested in Dusan Vlahovic, with the 21-year-old Fiorentina striker seen as a replacement for Luka Jovic.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Dusan Vlahovic is the subject of interest from Real Madrid over a move in next summer’s transfer window. The 21-year-old Fiorentina striker is being viewed as a potential replacement for Luka Jovic and Mariano Diaz.
Dusan Vlahovic joined Fiorentina from FK Partizan Belgrade in the summer of 2018. However, he only made slow progress at the Artemio Franchi Stadium initially, before eventually exploding last season. And now, the Serbian attacking sensation is starting to establish himself as one of the best strikers of show in Serie A, having kicked off 2021/22 on a strong note.
So far this season, the 21-year-old has amassed a return of six goals and an assist in eight games. However, Fiorentina are set to lose the services of Vlahovic by the time the summer transfer window comes around next year, with the player not signing a new deal with the Serie A club. Such a situation has alerted a number of clubs, including Real Madrid.
Real Madrid are in the market for attacking reinforcements, keeping next summer’s transfer window in mind. In particular, the Merengues are eager to sign a striker to be a long-term successor for Karim Benzema, with Erling Haaland being the priority target for the position.
However, Real Madrid do seem to be keeping their options open in the scenario they lose out to the competition in pursuit of Haaland, with Harry Kane among their alternatives. At the same time, the Spanish giants could also enter the market for another striker amid uncertainties surrounding the futures of Luka Jovic and Mariano Diaz.
Both the underperforming strikers are surplus to requirements at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Jovic coincidentally linked with Serie A outfit Fiorentina. And it could well be the case that the two Serbian attackers end up swapping clubs next summer.
