Earlier this week, Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl confirmed that the club have not received any offers for Jude Bellingham, despite speculations linking the young midfielder to a move to Real Madrid.
There have been suggestions that Real Madrid are poised to make an offer for Bellingham in the near future. They already have the approval of the youngster, who is prepared to reject clubs such as PSG and Manchester City.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are in the process of preparing their official bid for Bellingham. A proposal will be sent to Dortmund, which will include an upfront fee along with performance-related add-ons.
The negotiations will not be easy for Real Madrid, even though the club president Florentino Perez shares an excellent relationship with Dortmund boss Hans-Joachim Watzke.
This is because the German outfit are seeking to maximize the profit from the potential sale of Bellingham. Their sporting director Kehl has recently indicated that the club will be able to earn a ‘lot of money’ from the Englishman’s sale.
Reports across Europe have suggested a figure well beyond the €100 million mark, which could make life difficult for Real Madrid, especially if we take into account the player’s hefty salary and bonuses for his father, Mark.
All things considered, the negotiations are going to be tricky but there is optimism that the deal will be concluded as the player has already given his green light.
In the meantime, the club will look to consolidate their progress in the pursuit of other targets across Europe, including Gabri Veiga. The reigning European champions are also likely to target a new striker that can serve as an alternative for Karim Benzema, along with a new right-back that can replace Dani Carvajal in the long run.
