Real Madrid lost four forwards in the last month, with Karim Benzema, Marco Asensio, Mariano Diaz, and Eden Hazard all confirming their moves out of the Santiago Bernabeu as free agents.
Despite losing four attackers, Madrid have not particularly made a lot of moves in the transfer market yet. Fran Garcia and Brahim Diaz have returned to the club, with the latter capable of playing as a winger even though he is an attacking midfielder by trade.
There are several attackers linked to the club, with Espanyol’s Joselu the only one close to joining the club. The Spaniard will join on loan, and president Florentino Perez has confirmed his signing to a fan.
He was also asked whether Madrid would sign another player this summer, but Perez turned down those ideas with a rather simple, “no.”
Madrid have been rumoured with a move for Kai Havertz, Harry Kane, and even Kylian Mbappe this summer, but all beyond reach as of now.
Havertz’s price has been set at €60 million plus bonuses, which Madrid have no intention of paying, even though they rate the German quite highly. Chelsea are not ready to budge, and it seems he will end up at Arsenal soon enough.
Kane, too, will prove to be quite expensive. Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is expecting a figure upward of €100 million, and would be happy to sell to Madrid over Premier League clubs.
Finally, as far as Mbappe is concerned, it seems the Frenchman does not want to extend his contract with PSG beyond 2024, but is also not ready to leave the club this summer. Madrid are ready to sign him, but it remains to be seen if the three parties can see eye to eye.
