With the transfer window in its final phase, Real Madrid could still sanction one or two more exits having already parted ways with several established first-team stars and budding youngsters.
And one of the players who could be offloaded before the summer window closes is young attacking midfielder Reinier Jesus.
Now, AS is reporting that Real Madrid have not received any offers for Reinier and are still waiting for proposals for the 21-year-old Br azilian prospect.
Real Madrid signed Reinier from Flamengo in January 2020, shelling out a substantial sum of €30 million for his signing.
After spending time with Castilla, the youngster was shipped out on loan to Borussia Dortmund for two years, but he failed to make much of an impact in Germany.
Upon returning last year, Los Blancos loaned him out to Girona, where he endured an injury-riddled campaign.
Having come back to Madrid this summer, Reinier was initially training with the first team before being informed that he will not be a part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans.
The 21-year-old did not travel with the team to the USA and stayed back to train by himself. A return to Girona on loan appeared likely, but it ended up collapsing, leaving Reinier in limbo.
Since then, Reinier has been showing up at Valdebebas, alternating between training alone and with Castilla players. Despite his situation, club sources say that he is fully professional and praise his attitude.
But with the transfer window in its last week, and no offers appearing on the horizon, it remains to be seen what happens with Reinier.
