Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Girona

Real Madrid will be aiming to return to winning ways in Spain's top flight when they welcome Girona for a top-of-the-table clash in La Liga on Saturday night.

Los Blancos will enter this match off the back of a 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid on Sunday, with Marcos Llorente scoring a last-gasp leveller for Diego Simeone's side at Bernabeu.

Carlo Ancelotti's side are top of the La Liga table, two points ahead of second-placed Girona on the same number of games (23).

Here we round up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Girona, who have been the surprise package in Spain's top flight this season.

Eder Militao

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Militao remains on the treatment table, having suffered an ACL injury last August, but the Br azil international is on course to return before the end of the campaign.

Thibaut Courtois

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Courtois underwent an operation on an ACL injury earlier this season, and the club's number one is currently stepping up his rehabilitation ahead of a potential return before the end of the campaign.

David Alaba

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Alaba suffered an ACL injury against Villarreal on December 17, and the Austria international will miss the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign.

Antonio Rudiger

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: February 10 (vs. Girona)

Rudiger suffered a thigh problem during last week's contest with Getafe, and the Germany international missed out against Atletico, but the defender is on course to return on Saturday.

Vinicius Junior

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Neck
Possible return date: February 10 (vs. Girona)

Vinicius was forced to pull out of the starting XI against Atletico due to a neck problem, but he was able to feature on the bench, and there is hope that he will be available for this match.

Eduardo Camavinga

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: February 10 (vs. Girona)

Camavinga suffered a blow to his knee during the clash with Atletico, and the midfielder will need to be assessed before a decision is made on his involvement this weekend.

Real Madrid have no players suspended for this match, with Aurelien Tchouameni available again after serving a ban in the Madrid derby last time out.
