According to a report by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Achraf Hakimi is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The Merengues are in the market for a right-back amid Dani Carvajal’s advancing age. And the 25-year-old has handed a boost to Real Madrid’s prospects, as he is keen on returning to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Achraf Hakimi has established himself as one of the best full-backs in the world in the last half a decade. A native of Madrid, he spent nearly a decade and a half at Real Madrid but could not establish a foothold in the first-team squad. Dani Carvajal’s presence was always going to be a hindrance, and leaving Real Madrid was the correct decision for his career.
The Moroccan international rose in prominence during his two-year loan spell with Borussia Dortmund. The 25-year-old then took his performances to the next level in his short stint with Inter Milan, winning the Serie A title in the 2020/21 season. But PSG came calling in July 2021, and he has gone from strength to strength in the last three and a half years, with his market value rising to €65 million.
The former Real Madrid full-back has turned out over 100 times thus far for PSG, chipping in with 13 goals and 17 assists. But recent reports have claimed that Hakimi wants to embark on a new adventure. Such a development has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of his former club, Real Madrid.
