Newcastle United show keen interest in fringe Real Madrid star

Currently, there are certain Real Madrid players on thin ice between now and the end of the season.

Those are the players who are on the fringe of first-team football under Carlo Ancelotti but for whatever reason, cannot seem to make the most of their chances.

Out of those players, the one who sticks out like a sore thumb is Dani Ceballos. The loyal servant to Real Madrid has been an incredible option throughout the years but as time progresses, he only seems to be falling further down the pecking order rather than making a case for Ancelotti to start him.

This season, Ceballos has only made one La Liga start. Needless to say, this isn't good enough for a player who ages at 27 years old and should be entering the peak of his physical powers. Surely from the player's perspective, he should be considering the same thing as any ambitious player wants to be playing every minute possible.

According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Newcastle United are interested in signing Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid. According to the report, Ceballos is one of a few Real Madrid players linked with a move away (including Rodrygo and Ferland Mendy), with the British press linking him with a move to Newcastle United.

Under Eddie Howe, many players have been given a new lease of life at Newcastle United. Players such as Dan Burn, Miguel Almiron and Joelinton have been refreshed and rejuvenated under the English boss at St James Park, after they were seemingly reaching the point of no return before his appointment.

Dani Ceballos could experience the same fate as those players and it's needless to say that he needs a miracle to happen. Ceballos is an excellent technically-gifted player but he is underneath a pile of a world-class options at the Bernabeu, so he will never get a consistent run-out, particularly with new players linked to the club.

Ceballos has experience in the Premier League, of course. He spent a period of time on loan at Arsenal, learning under Mikel Arteta and winning the FA Cup. Overall, his time in the Premier League was successful but for the most part, he did not experience the passionate English crowd due to the sport being halted by COVID at the time of his loan.

He could certainly make a name for himself and from a Real Madrid perspective, it would be good to see.
