It has been over a month since Real Madrid announced the signing of Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer.
The 25-year-old has not been officially presented by the new club yet though due to the fact that he was away at UEFA Euro 2024.
With Mbappe’s France out of the Euros, the attacking superstar is set to travel to the Spanish capital in the coming days as his presentation has been scheduled for next Tuesday, July 16.
Apart from the presentation ceremony, Mbappe will also have some other important things to do at Real Madrid next Tuesday, reports MARCA.
Indeed, the former PSG forward is set to undergo medical tests on the day of his presentation next week in order for the club to assess his nose injury and decide whether surgery is needed or not.
Mbappe suffered a fractured nose in France’s Euro opener against Austria, which forced him to sit out of a game and then play with a protective mask on – something that affected his performances at the tournament.
The superstar forward, though, opted to get rid of the mask for France’s latest fixture against Spain on Tuesday.
Real Madrid did not send any specialist to study the problem of their new player in situ. But, there has been close communication with the French national team’s doctors regarding his condition.
Thus, on Tuesday, he will undergo full medical tests, with a focus on his nose injury, before a decision will be made on potential surgery and his recovery plan.
Considering that he made it to the Euro 2024 semi-finals, Mbappe is not expected to join Real Madrid’s pre-season anytime soon. In fact, he is unlikely to be involved in the pre-season tour of the USA either.
It must give him ample time to recover from the nose injury and be ready in time for the start of the season.
