Liverpool striker
Michael Owen is in talks over a shock move to Real Madrid.
The Sun says
Owen was last night locked in negotiations with the Spanish giants over a cut-price £10million transfer.
Real swooped before Liverpool's Champions League tie against Austrians Graz AK tonight after
Owen's Anfield contract negotiations stalled.
Reds boss Rafa Benitez said:
"Michael is on the list to play at the moment. We have an important game and we will see to that - and then talk afterwards."
"The 19 players who came out can play. I have nothing to say about his contract."
"If Michael does not play it is because one of the other forwards is doing so."
Owen's current deal has just one year to go but he had suggested he had agreed a two-year extension.
