Primera Liga reports

Brief reports of Primera Liga games played on Sunday:

ALAVES 0 VALENCIA 1

Raul Albiol volleyed the only goal following a seventh-minute corner.

Valencia, who have now won four of their last five outings, continued to create a host of scoring opportunities without adding to their goal tally.

Alaves are still without a home win this season.

ESPANYOL 2 REAL ZARAGOZA 2

Espanyol striker Raul Tamudo put his side in front after 48 minutes before Zaragoza midfielder David Generelo sped on to a return pass from Diego Milito to equalise.

Milito broke away to add a second Zaragoza goal in the 64th minute but Tamudo rescued a point with a header from Ivan de la Pena's free kick eight minutes from time.

RACING SANTANDER 1 MALAGA 1

Referee Carlos Megia Davila flourished his red card five times as Racing trio Vitolo, Pablo Pinillos and David Aganzo and Malaga's Anderson Silva and Gerardo were sent off.

Malaga took the lead after 34 minutes thanks to a header from Cesar Navas before midfielder Francisco Casquero equalised on the stroke of halftime with a fine effort from outside the area.

REAL MADRID 1 OSASUNA 1

Osasuna had midfielder Francisco Punal sent off after 15 minutes for a challenge on Roberto Carlos but Real failed to make the extra man count against well-organised and resilient visitors.

Serbia & Montenegro striker Savo Milosevic headed Osasuna in front in the 76th minute.

Guti picked out Zinedine Zidane's run into the area six minutes from time and the Frenchman hooked the ball across the goal for Roberto Soldado to equalise.

REAL MALLORCA 2 ATLETICO MADRID 2

An unmarked Maxi Rodriguez fired Atletico in front in the first minute, connecting with a cross from Bulgarian winger Martin Petrov, before midfielder Gonzalo Colsa headed a second from Fernando Torres's cross.

Mallorca pulled one back in the 20th minute with a brave diving header from Italian defender Mark Iuliano.

Atletico had keeper Ismael Falcon sent off in the 75th minute. Iuliano then blasted the equaliser into the roof of the net as the visitors failed to clear a corner 10 minutes later.

Mallorca's Fernando Navarro was also red-carded in the final minute.

SEVILLA 3 REAL SOCIEDAD 2

Sociedad, who have not won in seven outings, took the lead after 25 minutes with a powerful header from Mikel Labaka.

The visitors had defender Daniel Cifuentes sent off in the 45th minute but added to their lead in the 57th when Gaizka Garitano scored at the far post.

Sevilla's fightback started in the 76th minute as striker Kepa bundled home Javier Saviola's deflected shot. Frederic Kanoute then headed the equaliser five minutes later.

Sociedad were reduced to nine men when Garitano was sent off in the 86th minute. Two minutes later Kepa rose to head the winner from Dani Alves's cross.

VILLARREAL 2 GETAFE 1

Villarreal made it three wins in as many games after coming from behind to beat Getafe, who took the lead in the 20th minute with a spectacular overhead kick from Riki.

Argentine playmaker Juan Roman Riquelme levelled when he stroked in a free kick after 45 minutes.

Uruguayan striker Diego Forlan fired the winner in the 58th.

Played Saturday:

ATHLETIC BILBAO 2 REAL BETIS 0

Bilbao continued to climb away from the foot of the table with a convincing win over bottom club Betis.

Midfielder Fran Yeste whipped in a cross for Ismael Urzaiz to power a header past Toni Doblas after 21 minutes.

Seven minutes later Mikel Danobeitia cut in off the left flank and let fly with a fierce shot that went in off the near post.

Betis, who have not won in nine league outings, finished with 10 men after defender Oscar Lopez was sent off 10 minutes from time.

CELTA VIGO 0 DEPORTIVO CORUNA 3

The outcome of this regional derby was decided after 24 minutes when Celta keeper Jose Manuel Pinto was sent off for hauling down Pedro Munitis in the area and Diego Tristan converted the penalty.

Juan Carlos Valeron skipped past three challenges and placed a low shot in the corner after 42 minutes.

Defender Joan Capdevila thumped the third goal from a 25-metre free kick.

Tristan also put a second-half penalty wide.

CADIZ 1 BARCELONA 3

Barcelona set a new club record of 12 consecutive wins in all competitions, against a spirited Cadiz who made the champions struggle early on.

Barca midfielder Andres Iniesta threaded a ball through for Ludovic Giuly to score after 32 minutes. Rafael Marquez won the visitors a penalty before the break which Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o converted at the second attempt.

Eto'o scored his 15th goal of the season three minutes after the restart, putting away a pass from Lionel Messi.

Cadiz's efforts were rewarded in the final minute when Croatian striker Nenad Mirosavljevic slotted home from close range.
