A report from Spanish outlet Defensa Central has shared what Zinedine Zidane’s current plans for Dani Ceballos are once the Arsenal midfielder’s loan comes to an end.
Ceballos is edging towards the end of his second spell with the Gunners. He is well on course to make a much greater number of appearances this time around for Mikel Arteta’s men.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal hope to keep him beyond his loan. But if they do, it appears that they are going to have to bide their time before making a move.
According to Defensa Central, Zidane wants to give Ceballos a chance in pre-season before making a decision on his future.
It is noted that the 24-year-old’s goal remains to make the grade at the Bernabeu. So he will surely be very pleased to potentially get a chance to prove himself.
In truth, it currently seems unlikely that many Arsenal fans will be overly disappointed if Ceballos does not return once again next year.
The Spain international has shown flashes of brilliance during his loan spells. However, he has not managed to turn himself into a player Arteta simply cannot leave off the team sheet.
Perhaps another loan may appeal if Zidane decides that he is still not quite ready. But Arsenal have surely not yet been given a good enough reason to pursue a permanent move in the summer.
