Eduardo Camavinga’s growth since arriving at Real Madrid has been phenomenal.
Over the past year or so, he has slowly grown in prominence and now finds himself as one of the undisputed starters.
At just 20 years of age, however, the protege has a long career ahead of him and Real Madrid hope to keep him at Santiago Bernabeu for most of it. Considering the player’s commitment to the badge, it is clear that both parties see eye to eye.
Camavinga’s current contract with Los Blancos runs until the summer of 2027. Despite having over three years remain, the club wish to avoid any chance of losing the player and have been working hard towards a renewal.
Now, according to reports from Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid’s objective has come to fruition.
The ever-reliable Italian journalist has given his trademark ‘Here we go’ tag to the deal and reports that the youngster’s new contract will run until 2028. An official confirmation of the same is pending from the club.
In addition to the extended duration, Real Madrid have also offered Camavinga improved wages and a larger release clause which now stands at €1 billion.
In a midfield with names like Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Dani Ceballos, Aurelien Tchouameni, Jude Bellingham and Federico Valverde, Camavinga is one of the manager’s most trusted resources. Considering his age, that goes a long way in showing his quality on the field.
So far this season, the 20-year-old has played a part in all nine of Real Madrid’s games and started in seven of them. He averages 1.2 successful dribbles, over ten defensive actions and one key pass per game.
While he has primarily operated as a midfielder this season, Ancelotti has called him up occasionally to operate at left-back. His versatility, thus, is a boon to the manager’s plans.
