Jude Bellingham is facing 'MONTHS on the sidelines' - as Real Madrid plan shoulder surgery for the England star after the Club W

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham is reportedly set to undergo a shoulder surgery and faces months on the sidelines.

Los Blancos' domestic season comes to an end on Saturday before starting preparations for the Club World Cup, which runs from June 14 to July 13.

Bellingham is expected to be in the squad that travels to the USA for the post-season tournament.

The England international has been suffering with a shoulder problem since falling awkwardly and dislocating it during a LaLiga match against Rayo Vallecano in November 2023.

He has delayed going under the knife and been forced to play with his shoulder heavily strapped to prevent extra injury.

According to The Athletic, Madrid now intend for Bellingham to undergo surgery following the Club World Cup.

The procedure could keep the 21-year-old out for 12 weeks, which would see him miss the start of the 2025–26  campaign.

Bellingham enjoyed a stellar debut season in Madrid following his £115 million move from Borussia Dortmund.

He contributed with 23 goals in 43 appearances as Ancelotti's men won LaLiga and the Champions League.

However, Bellingham has come under some criticism this season having scored 14 goals in 51 games amid Madrid's struggles.

The Spanish giants were pipped to the LaLiga title by Barcelona and dumped out of the Champions League by Arsenal in the quarter-finals.

Madrid also suffered a 3-2 defeat by the Catalans in the final of Copa del Rey last month.

Xabi Alonso is now poised to be appointed as manager, with the outgoing Bayer Leverkusen boss poised to replace Carlo Ancelotti, who will take charge of Br azil.

The move comes ahead of the expanded Club World Cup, which has reportedly been targeted as a priority by the club.

Real Madrid will face Al Hilal, Pachuca and Red Bull Salzburg in the group stages of the 32-team tournament in the United States.

Their opening match will be against Saudi side Al-Hilal on June 18.
