Real Madrid are desperate to sign a new winger and could offload Javier Saviola to Wigan Athletic in exchange for Antonio Valencia.
Javier Saviola is set to be offered to Wigan Athletic in a loan exchange deal that would see Antonio Valencia head to Real Madrid after los Merengues’ head coach Juande Ramos again insisted that he wants a new winger.
Ramos has told the interim board that signing one more player before the transfer window shuts is a must in order to balance his side and push on in the league and Europe, according to Marca.
Valencia is the former Tottenham Hotspur coach's first option and, the report states, Madrid’s only choice, however, they have already seen a bid rebuffed by the Premier League outfit.
If a new offer of €15 million is refused then Madrid are keen to try and push a loan deal forward with Saviola heading to the JJB Stadium and Valencia moving temporarily to the Bernabéu.
Despite the current administration only remaining in charge at the Spanish giants until presidential elections in June or July, they are prepared to support their coach.
Saviola is also said to be interesting Portsmouth and PSV, but if Madrid want to use him as part of a deal to land Valencia then he will have little choice as to his next destination.
Ramos is desperate to add another winger to balance his team with Arjen Robben the only out-and-out wide-man at the club as Wesley Sneijder has been on the opposite flank in recent games.
