Real Madrid have made an official offer for Inter Milan defender Maicon this week, according to the player's representative, Mario Rosi.
The Br azilian defender has been strongly linked with a move to Spain lately and now looks more likely than ever to leave in the summer.
Speaking to the Br azilian press today, Rosi admitted that Real Madrid have sent an official offer to Inter but he did not reveal anymore details.
"Madrid sent a fax to Inter, and from here on, many more things will happen," he is reported as saying by AS.
If a deal is to materialise it is thought that Madrid will have to pay between €15 and €20 million for the player, who has come to be regarded as one of the best right-back's in the world today.
The defender is set to fly back to Italy this week from Br azil after injuring himself in the game against Ecuador.
It is thought that he could miss the rest of the season due to the injury and hence, if this deal does go through, might never play for Inter Milan again.
The move would certainly be a big step for Real Madrid, who have struggled in the wing-back position at times.
With his versatility and pace that is no doubt that Maicon would not only be a great attacking option, but also a good defensive addition.
