Wesley Sneijder is widely tipped to exit Real Madrid during the off-season as club president, Florentino Perez continues to revolutionize the squad with new superstar signings.
There has so far been no indication that the Dutch midfielder is part of the Galacticos plan for next term and he has even become part of the ‘infamous nine’, a list of players compiled by the press and rumored to have been offered to Premier League clubs by the Los Blancos hierarchy.
But the 25-year-old, who cost Madrid €27 million, has stressed that he is not yet ready to walk away from the Santiago Bernabeu.
“I do not have any intentions to leave Real Madrid,” he told AS in an interview while on vacation back in the Netherlands .
“Nobody has contacted me to tell me anything about this matter and what I want is to remain at Madrid . They paid a lot of money for me and I want to succeed with this club "
“Right now, I am calm and I have a lot of desire to return and begin working,” he added.
Sneijder did admit that he is surprised by the speedy transformation the club and the squad are currently going through, but he is also looking forward to playing with some of the best players in the world.
“To play along alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka or Franck Ribery is an honor for any footballer,” he beamed.
“It is evident that the arrival of Florentino Perez has reignited the madridismo spirit and that is very good for the team."
“But I am not afraid of the competition. I only want to be a player who can help Madrid return to their rightful place in football.”
Serie A giants, AC Milan have reportedly shown their interest in Sneijder, who could also be utilized as part of Los Merengues’ plan to sign Franck Ribery from Bayern Munich.
