Negredo desperate for Real Madrid stay

Alvaro Negredo marked his Santiago Bernabeu debut with a goal in Real Madrid's 4-2 win over Quito last night.

Negredo, whose future is uncertain with Tottenham and Liverpool keen, said: "The truth is to debut here with a goal makes me proud."

"I am a lifelong Madrid fan and it is magnificent to play in the Bernabeu."

The striker added: "I must wait and be calm and try to change the opinion of the coach to get a job."
