The Br azilian revealed it would be "a dream" to sign for the Bernabeu club.
Real Madrid target Wendell has said he "would walk to Madrid" to sign for the Spanish giants.
The 22-year-old left-back, who AS claims to have been contacted by Madrid ahead of a possible summer move, spoke openly of his desire to join the Bernabeu club after learning of their interest.
Currently at Bayer Leverkusen , Wendell has impressed in the Bundesliga since joining from Br azilian side Gremio two years ago.
While Roger Schmidt's side paid just £5.2million for the defender, his performances in Germany have caught the eye of "more than one" of Europe's elite - according to Wendell's agent, Christian Butcher- and he would be expected to fetch over £25million this summer should a bidding war break out.
But joining Zinedine Zidane's men appears to be priority for the youngster, who is excited at the prospect of succeeding Marcelo and Roberto Carlos as the club's Br azilian left-back.
"It makes me really happy," he said of Madrid's interest, "but I have to remember that I'm not there yet."
"So what this does is fill me with motivation to play better still so the interest from the club doesn't just increase but the transfer gets done."
"For any player, regardless of nationality, to play for Real Madrid is a dream. I'd walk there to play for Madrid."
Madrid are widely expected to strengthen heavily this summer with a FIFA transfer ban coming into effect.
A lack of cover for Marcelo on the left side of defence has been a key issue for the club since Fabio Coentrao was allowed to leave on loan last August.
