Rodrygo’s time at Real Madrid is slowly ticking down.
The player knows it, the manager knows it, and so does the club. He’s a shadow of his former self and is no longer contributing to the team the way he once did.
His stats continue to decline, and he’s steadily losing the trust of the fans, and, it seems, of the manager as well. If we’re being practical, there’s little future left for him at Los Blancos.
To make matters worse, his father has reportedly worsened the situation by complaining to the club about Rodrygo’s role, an action that, understandably, has not been well received within Madrid.
Xabi Alonso had initially expressed confidence in Rodrygo, but the Br azilian’s lack of minutes at the Club World Cup suggests a shift in stance. It has become clear to the manager that there are better options on the right flank, and Rodrygo is no longer the first choice.
According to Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, just a few weeks ago, the club and Alonso’s stance on Rodrygo’s future was still unclear. There was verbal backing, but not much to show for it on the pitch.
However, new developments have clarified the situation. Cortegana now reports, citing sources close to the club, that both Alonso and Real Madrid agree: if a suitable offer arrives, they will not block Rodrygo’s exit.
That’s a significant update. The Br azilian is no longer considered untouchable. But for a move to materialize, a strong offer will need to be brought to the table.
And honestly, he should move on. There is simply no room for him to become a regular starter at Real Madrid anymore, and he must know this better than anyone. His time and talent would be better served elsewhere.
Arsenal have long shown interest in the winger, and Real Madrid have reportedly set a price tag as well. The coming weeks will be critical in determining how this story unfolds.
