Real Madrid star Karim Benzema could be on the move despite reports he’s about to pen a new contract.
That’s according to Spanish media outlet Don Balon who say Florentino Perez is keen to cash in on the striker.
However, the club supremo is at odds with Zinedine Zidane.
The French chief is a huge fan of his compatriot and is keen to retain his services.
Liverpool and Arsenal have repeatedly been linked with the 29-year-old.
Reports over the summer suggested he’d been offered to Jurgen Klopp for around £92m.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is also a long-term admirer of the former Lyon man.
Don Balon say Perez could look to replace Benzema with Bayern Munich ace Robert Lewandowski.
According to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, the powerful forward is keen to strut his stuff at the Bernabeu.
"He wants to go to Real Madrid," Balague told Sky Sports.
"It’s 100 per cent certain, no matter what he says or his agent says."
"But the problem is, it’s not going to be easy."
"He’s nearly 30-years-old and Real Madrid tend not to sign those players although they did so with Ruud van Nistelrooy."
"He’ll cost about £70.5m. Lewandowski has told his agent ‘get me to Real Madrid’ ."
Benzema has scored 122 goals in 247 games for Real since joining the club in 2009.
