Real Madrid have joined the race for Willian as it seems Cristiano Ronaldo is a huge fan of the Chelsea winger.
Willian, and not Eden Hazard has been the star of the show for Chelsea in the last few weeks and the player has shown against Barcelona how he really can be described as the best – and Ronaldo knows it.
The Real Madrid star would rather have Willian – and not Hazard, and according to Don Balon and the Express, he’s told Florentino Perez to make sure Real Madrid don’t miss out on landing the player, who has caught the attentions of Barcelona and also Manchester United.
Ronaldo and Real Madrid think not only would moving for Willian be a blow to Barcelona, but it would also see former Real boss Jose Mourinho and Manchester United miss out on the player, who Mourinho is a huge fan of and has sounded out almost constantly since he left Chelsea and joined Manchester United.
Willian has claimed he’s happy at Chelsea and has certainly worked his way to the forefront of Antonio Conte’s plans – but it would certainly be interesting should a new Chelsea boss come in this summer and allow him to leave in order to keep Hazard and add funds to the club’s kitty.
In terms of Manchester United, the club simply have to add to their squad this summer, with Mourinho claiming ‘everything has to change’ after seeing the club exit Europe at the hands of Sevilla, and wants to bring in top class players he can trust and who will certainly be able to preform in the toughest of games – something his current United squad have struggled to do, with Romelu Lukaku even hinting at that before backtracking on his comments when further questioned by the press.
