Toni Kroos has confessed he would like to play further forward for Real Madrid. "I’m not Casemiro…"
Kroos was given licence to push on under Zinedine Zidane, with Casemiro playing the holding role in Madrid’s midfield.
However, the German has played more defensively since Lopetegui’s arrival and he was asked about his preference.
"It’s a challenge to reverse this situation," he said at a Press conference for his country’s Nations League clash with Netherlands.
"We’ve shown we can do it. We’ve always had phases like these. It doesn’t worry me."
"I like playing deeper, but I'm not Casemiro."
