Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has put Karim Benzema behind his back once again by stopping a transfer for the player dubbed as his successor.
Real Madrid’s iconic trio of the BBC is nearing its end. Last year, Cristiano Ronaldo sealed a transfer to Juventus. The Merengues failed to sign a replacement for him, but Vinicius Junior has provided positive vibes regarding the same and he may be able to replicate the Portugal international if he manages to improve his finishing. That is imminent and with time and experience, Vinicius is tipped for big things at the Bernabeu.
Gareth Bale’s departure in the upcoming summer is looking like an imminent transfer. Whether Real Madrid will sign a direct locum to him remains to be seen given that they already have Marco Asensio in the roster. Martin Odegaard is highly rated as well and so too is Brahim Diaz. One of the three will step in sooner or later and make up for the Wales international whose Madrid career will have mixed reviews in the future.
As for Karim Benzema, Real Madrid have not come close to bringing in a replacement. The Frenchman is more of a nine and a half than a number nine or ten. Mariano Diaz and Borja Mayoral have struggled to cope with his competition and Raul de Tomas, currently on loan at Rayo Vallecano, will definitely try his hand at competing with the colossal Frenchman. But it believed that Rodrygo Goes will be Karim Benzema’s long-term successor.
The Br azilian is backed to form a partnership in the attack with his compatriot Vinicius Junior. Rodrygo has a number of goals to his name from his career in Br azil, but Zinedine Zidane is not too sure whether he could be inducted into the first team at Real Madrid straightaway. The player is due to arrive in June 2019, but Zidane has asked Florentino Perez to loan Rodrygo to another European team to gain some experience first.
