Rodrygo Goes open to Liverpool move

Rodrygo Goes is reportedly attracted by the idea of playing for Liverpool and is considering leaving Real Madrid to join the Reds.

According to a report by Catalan outlet El Nacional, Rodrygo Goes is weighing up the prospect of joining Liverpool to bolster his chances of being selected in Br azil’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. However, Real Madrid will resist offers from the Reds and other suitors, with the youngster viewed as a long-term solution in the final third.

Rodrygo Goes joined Real Madrid from Santos FC in July 2019 and has since made gradual progress. While the Br azilian was widely regarded as one of the best young attackers in his country before he made his way to the Santiago Bernabeu, he has struggled to perform consistently for Los Blancos.

Rodrygo’s struggles have amplified in the first half of the 2021/22 season, as Vinicius Jr. and Karim Benzema have nailed down two of the three attacking spots in the side. As a result, the 20-year-old has started only eight of the 23 games played by Real Madrid thus far, amassing two goals and three assists in the process. His situation has piqued the interest of Liverpool.

Recent reports have claimed that the Reds are prepared to table a significant offer to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid. The interest from Liverpool does make sense, considering Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino will all be in their thirties before the 2022/23 season Begins.

So, it behoves Liverpool to start laying down a succession plan for the trio, with one of the pieces already in place in Diogo Jota. The Premier League heavyweights are looking to repeat the Jota formula by signing Rodrygo from Real Madrid, and they have now been handed a major boost in his pursuit.

According to El Nacional, the Br azilian attacker is attracted by the idea of playing for Liverpool and will consider leaving Real Madrid as he wants to reinforce his prospects of representing his nation at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. However, the Spanish giants do not want to entertain any bids for Rodrygo, with the 20-year-old viewed as a long-term solution in the final third.

There are several names on Liverpool’s radar, but with Rodrygo open to swapping the Bernabeu for Anfield, the ball is in the Reds’ court to convince Real Madrid to part with the Br azilian forward. So, it remains to be seen if Liverpool can sign the young attacker or if he stays put at Real Madrid.
