Real Madrid are preparing a revolution this summer, hoping to complete multiple signings to reinforce their attack for next season.
Los Blancos have just lost Marco Asensio, Mariano Diaz, Eden Hazard, and Karim Benzema over the course of the last two days, and want to sign multiple forwards to fill the gaping holes in attack.
They are looking to sign up to four forwards, with three players, in particular, making the rounds in transfer news. These are Harry Kane, Kai Havertz, and Joselu.
Kane is the primary objective for the club to reinforce the striker position, while Joselu will largely serve as his backup, taking over the role Mariano Diaz was brought in to fill.
Meanwhile, Havertz is a ‘dream’ for Florentino Perez and Carlo Ancelotti, and now the player is on his way to Real Madrid, as per a report by BILD.
Havertz is on his way out of Chelsea this summer, with the Blues in dire need of raising money through player sales. Their spending last summer has submerged them in hot waters with the FFP, and could raise a ton of complications.
Chelsea spent over €80 million on the German three seasons ago, and while they know they will not be able to recover all of the investment, they still want ‘important’ money to let any of their starting lineup players leave.
As such, the Blues have also ruled out any loan move for Havertz, and will only consider a permanent transfer away from the Stamford Bridge.
Madrid do not see Havertz as a no. 9, though. They view him as a player who can play between the lines.
His numbers also reflect his unproductivity in front of the goal, with the player failing to hit the ten-goal mark in the Premier League across his three seasons with Chelsea so far.
