As we edge closer to the start of the summer transfer window, Real Madrid are slowly making their roadmap for the season ahead and how they plan to approach squad building this summer.
According to Josep Pedrerol, this could be a very important transfer window for Real Madrid, especially with Karim Benzema exiting from the squad.
The Frenchman announced his desire to leave Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the month, in favour of a move to Saudi Arabia. Pedrerol believes this could play a crucial role in convincing the club to spend a fortune this summer.
As per the Spanish TV presenter, Real Madrid could be ready to spend up to €400 million on new players this summer. This hardly comes as a surprise, as the club have witnessed mass defections ahead of the coming summer.
Marco Asensio, Mariano Diaz and Karim Benzema are all set to leave the club at the end of the month whereas the contract of Eden Hazard was terminated by Los Blancos owing to his high salary and poor performances.
Real Madrid’s first order of business will be to sign Jude Bellingham. The Englishman is slowly closing in on a move to Santiago Bernabeu and could be the club’s biggest signing of the summer.
Next up, the Spanish giants could after a replacement for Karim Benzema. Multiple reports claim Harry Kane has been identified as the desired replacement for the ageing Frenchman. Kane’s contract at Spurs expires in 2024, making him an ideal target for Los Blancos.
Apart from a midfielder and a striker, Real Madrid might go after a new fullback, especially in the left-back department. Alphonso Davies was identified as a potential target, but whether or not the club can sanction his move this summer remains to be seen.
