Kylian Mbappé and Paris Saint-Germain are on the verge of agreeing to a contract extension. As a result, all eyes went to Real Madrid with how the Spanish giants would react to the news.
Los Blancos are operating with the business-as-usual mentality. Nonetheless, the Spanish media isn’t too happy that the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner might make Real Madrid look like a fool again.
El Chiringuito pundit Juanma Rodríguez stated on Twitter that the La Liga club shouldn’t be surprised by the reported decision that Mbappé intends to extend his contract.
“If it is true that Real Madrid would be very surprised if [Mbappé] deceived to renew with PSG, it is that Real Madrid still does not know the type of person that deceived [them],” Rodríguez tweeted. “And that is very worrying.”
PSG’s decision to reportedly part ways with Neymar Jr., who appears to be on his way to Saudi Arabia to join Al-Hilal, and then the arrival of Ousmane Dembélé from FC Barcelona.
The transfer window might have convinced Mbappé to extend so he doesn’t leave as a free agent. However, those two moves above likely tilt the decision in PSG’s favor.
Mbappé is at the center of this new project, and there’s no Lionel Messi or Neymar to take the spotlight away from him.
