Real Madrid resumed their campaign on a rather disappointing note, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Sevilla this past weekend.
To make things worse, Vinicius Junior was once again the subject of racial slurs from fans, although the Br azilian was impressed with Sevilla’s swift action against the fan.
But on a positive note, the game saw two defensive stalwarts Antonio Rudiger and Sergio Ramos sharing a fun moment.
In what turned out to be one of the highlights of the game, both Ramos and Rudiger got into an argument during the injury time of the first half.
Both were seen shrugging each other inside the box, with Ramos approaching his Real Madrid counterpart.
It was a bittersweet occasion for the Real Madrid fans, who were used to seeing Ramos menacing opposition players with his aggression.
But this time around, the now-Sevilla defender had approached Real Madrid’s very own Rudiger.
"See you outside. Look, I’m trembling with fear," Ramos told Rudiger.
In response, Rudiger said, "See you there."
Despite the tension between the two at the stroke of the half-time whistle, Rudiger and Ramos showed camaraderie and sportsmanship by hugging after the game.
It was a light moment that reminded Real Madrid fans that Sergio Ramos will always be one of their own, despite his current commitment to Sevilla.
However, one would certainly wonder about the aggression and mentality of the Real Madrid defence, if they had both Rudiger and Ramos, perhaps in some parallel universe.
