Real Madrid predicted lineup vs Man City today - Champions League

Record European champions Real Madrid face the mightiest of tests on Wednesday evening, travelling to Manchester City in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.

The Spanish giants held the reigning European champions to a 3-3 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg, twice coming from behind in a dramatic affair. A Ruben Dias own goal and Rodrygo effort cancelled out Bernardo Silva's early effort, with Federico Valverde producing a second-half equaliser after screamers from Phil Foden and Josko Gvardiol had put the visitors ahead.

Real suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat on their last trip to the Etihad during the semi-final this time last year and they will be seeking revenge in Manchester this time around.

Carlo Ancelotti has a few injury concerns for the trip, so here is how Real Madrid could line up at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday Night.

GK: Andriy Lunin - The Ukrainian has been an able deputy for Thibaut Courtois, with Real's Belgian still sidelined with injury. Lunin didn't cover himself in glory for Silva's goal in the first leg, but he managed a clean sheet against Mallorca at the weekend.

RB: Dani Carvajal - The Spaniard made a brief cameo against Mallorca, meaning he is well rested for the journey to England. Carvajal remains Real's first-choice option at right-back and he will have to be at his best to stifle Jack Grealish midweek.

CB: Antonio Rudiger - The German has always enjoyed his battles with Erling Haaland and he kept the Norwegian incredibly quiet during the first leg. He simply must do the same at the Etihad.

CB: Nacho - With Aurelien Tchouameni, who filled in at centre-back in the first leg, suspended against Man City and Eder Militao unlikely to be quite fit enough yet, the experienced and ever-reliable Nacho should partner Rudiger.

LB: Ferland Mendy - Somewhat surprisingly, Mendy featured from the start against Mallorca and played the entirety of the game. He will have his work cut out to deal with the interchanging Phil Foden and Silva - the latter being the record scorer in this fixture.

CM: Eduardo Camavinga - The Frenchman dazzled during the first leg and was one of the star performers in the 3-3 draw. His energy and relentlessness will prove key.

CM: Toni Kroos - Real's quarterback is likely to sit at the base of the midfield with Tchouameni absent. He will want to dictate the tempo of the game when the visitors regain possession and he certainly has the experience to handle the big occasion.

CM: Federico Valverde - The midfielder scored an absolutely sensational volley during the first leg and will be relied upon to provide some attacking thrust from midfield. However, he will have to be defensively sound on Wednesday up against the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri.

AM: Jude Bellingham - Failed to capture the imagination during the first leg, but he impressed on his most recent visit to the Etihad with Borussia Dortmund in last season's Champions League. He can be the difference-maker for Real.

ST: Vinicius Junior - The Br azilian impressed during the first leg, making good use of his pace and trickery to produce two assists for teammates. With John Stones potentially out for City, Vinicius will be looking to light up the Etihad.

ST: Rodrygo - The youngster has a tremendous record against City, providing a goal in the first leg to back up his heroics in the 2021/22 semi-final. Rested at the weekend, he will be raring to go after scoring four goals in his last three outings for club and country.
