Aurelien Tchouameni's time at Real Madrid has been interesting, to say the least.
The Frenchman has remained a key part of Carlo Ancelotti's plans over the last two seasons but that has never stopped him from being linked with a move away from Santiago Bernabeu, with a number of Premier League clubs believed to be interested in the midfielder.
It is not hard to understand why. Tchouameni is one of the best in the world in his position and is only expected to get better with experience. It is easy to forget that he is just 24 years of age and has a lot of room for improvement and time to do so.
Most recently, rumours have suggested that Liverpool and Arsenal could make a move for Tchouameni next summer. It remains to be seen whether that turns out to be accurate or not.
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Tchouameni intends to stay at Real Madrid and the club want the same. As reported by Liverpool.com, the transfer guru said on his podcast regarding the situation.
"We saw these rumours in England and we keep receiving many questions on Tchouameni because the summer transfer window just closed. Many people raised rumours about Liverpool, Arsenal, Tchouameni in 2025."
"I wanted to clarify something for 2024, 2025, 2026, whenever. The intention of Aurelien Tchouameni is to stay in Real Madrid. The intention of Real Madrid is to keep Aurelien Tchouameni as a crucial player for that project. For present and future. They are in love with Tchouameni; with the player, with the professional."
Romano went on to rate the concrete possibilities of Tchouameni leaving Real Madrid at the moment as zero. He said:
"The situation is perfect between the club and player."
“I can guarantee at the moment, despite all the rumours, we know how many clubs can appreciate a top player like Tchouameni… but in terms of concrete possibilities for him to leave Madrid – at the moment, zero."
One would imagine that Real Madrid want Tchouameni to stay in the Spanish capital for the foreseeable future. The club have always valued stability.
Just look at how long they stuck with the midfield of Casemiro, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, and were rewarded for it, winning one Champions League after another. Expect that to be the case with players like Tchouameni, Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, Fede Valverde and more.
Of course, one should never say never in football. A Premier League club, or one from the Saudi Pro League, could end up making an undeniable offer. Just look at the uncertainty around the future of Vinicius Jr recently.
