Real Madrid will demand a €80 million (£67.5m) transfer fee from Arsenal for Rodrygo this summer, according to reports in Spain.
Mikel Arteta is in the market for a new attacking wide player in the upcoming transfer window and Rodrygo is on the club’s shortlist alongside Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams.
According to Cadena SER, Rodrygo’s representatives are sounding out the market to gauge interest from potential clubs.
The report claims that Arsenal are one of two Premier League sides who have been approached and are now considering a move for the Br azil international.
Arsenal are said to be aware that signing Rodrygo is a ‘difficult operation’, while Madrid will demand €80m (£67.5m) for the 24-year-old.
Rodrygo was signed in a €45m (£39.3m) deal from Br azilian side Santos in 2018 and he has won 13 trophies during his time at Madrid, including three La Liga titles and the Champions League on two occasions.
The Br azilian winger, whose deal with Madrid expires in 2028, would offer Arsenal a versatile option in attack as he is capable of playing on both flanks.
Cadena SER report that Madrid have not made a final decision over Rodrygo’s future and will wait for Xabi Alonso to make the call after replaces Carlo Ancelotti at the end of the season.
Madrid are also due to play at the Club World Cup next month, which could delay Rodrygo’s potential sale until August.
Elsewhere, Sky Germany report that Arsenal have pulled out of the running to sign Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane.
The former Manchester City midfielder is set to become available on a free transfer as his contract with Bayern will expire next month and no agreement has been reached over a new deal.
It’s understood that Arsenal are targeting a younger profile of attack than Sane, who turned 29 in January.
