Luka Modric is set to begin a new chapter. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Croatian midfielder will officially sign with AC Milan this week.
The move comes after Modric confirmed his departure from Real Madrid at the end of the season, concluding a glittering spell in the Spanish capital.
The 39-year-old played 35 matches for Los Blancos this season, proving he still had plenty to offer at the highest level. Despite receiving multiple offers from clubs around the globe, Modric has opted for a stint in Italy. While that may seem a bit surprising, it’s important to note that Modric was an admirer of Milan as a child.
Should the deal materialize the way it’s reported, AC Milan could ink Modric’s signing in the coming days, while Modric would head to Milan after returning from the United States when Real Madrid end their Club World Cup journey.
