Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni talked to MARCA and shared his thoughts on coach Xabi Alonso, who has given him the opportunity to lead the team’s midfield line. Tchouameni has responded in brilliant fashion, becoming one of the most important players in Real Madrid’s starting XI since Alonso took over.
"I am happy with him, honestly. It’s true that things are going well with the coach and that he has new ideas for me and for the team, but I think that since the beginning of 2025 things have gone much better for me and I was already doing well with Carlo. In any case, the idea now is to focus on each match and help my teammates and keep growing," he said.
Still, Tchouameni wanted to avoid any kind of controversial quotes when he was asked about the main differences between Alonso and former coach Carlo Ancelotti.
"There are differences between Carlo and Xabi, that’s normal, each one has his idea and his style, but they are two great coaches," he concluded.
