The Argentine appeared in the mixed zone after Real Madrid’s win over Levante.
Franco Mastantuono was one of the players who stopped in the mixed zone after Real Madrid’s 4–1 away win against Levante, and the young Argentine shared his thoughts on his adaptation to life at the club, his role within the squad, and more.
"I pushed hard today. I was hoping for that goal, even though it wasn’t the main goal, but it was a step toward gaining confidence in this team that’s getting better and better. It’s a huge joy."
Mastantuono was also asked about being compared to Lamine Yamal.
"I congratulate Lamine Yamal on his second place in the Ballon d’Or. I think he’s a great player. Comparison? Obviously, it’s not my place to say that. I try not to compare myself to anyone, but rather to play for my team, which I believe is what ultimately leads to individual success."
The Argentine, who only joined Madrid this year, emphasized how quickly he has felt at home.
"I feel very comfortable. It feels like I’ve been here longer because of the way I’m treated by my teammates and the team. It’s great to compete and train like this, doing a very nice job that’s also our passion. The kids have given me a lot of confidence, and I feel right at home."
Mastantuono credited his success so far to staying true to himself and focusing on helping the team.
"I’m always myself, I try to impose my game and my personality. I think that’s why they’ve sought me out at Madrid. I’m always going to try to help the team and help Madrid win. It’s not about the individual, but about the team having this chemistry."
Finally, he acknowledged the challenges of adapting to a new environment, but insisted he feels he’s on the right track.
"I’m just getting used to a new league, a new team, a new life. I’m coming from Argentina, and it’s a big leap, but I feel comfortable and growing in confidence. This year is going to be incredible for me and everyone."
