Real Madrid have sights on €60m-rated Juventus defender but face financial and Premier League challenges

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid have been closely monitoring Juventus centre-back Gleison Bremer as the Br azilian defender is reportedly one of the favourites of the club’s chief scout, Juni Calafat.

With plans to strengthen their defence in the summer of 2026, Los Blancos are considering several options, and Bremer has emerged as an intriguing possibility.

Names such as William Saliba, Ibrahima Konate, and Dayot Upamecano have already been on Real Madrid’s radar. However, securing these players has proven challenging.

Saliba recently signed a new contract with Arsenal, while Liverpool are reluctant to sell Konate. Amid this situation, Bremer’s profile stands out.

Known for his strong attacking style and impressive ball-handling skills, the Juventus defender has caught Calafat’s eye.

He also has a release clause of €60 million, which initially seemed accessible for a club like Real Madrid.

The main challenge for Madrid is Bremer’s age and the financial demand. At 28 years old, paying €60 million for the defender does not align with the club’s transfer strategy, which now prioritises younger talents with long-term potential.

To complicate matters further, several Premier League clubs have reportedly expressed interest in Bremer.

As such, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea are all said to be seriously considering meeting his release clause, which could effectively rule him out as a realistic option for Real Madrid.

With the defender likely to remain out of reach, the focus for Real Madrid is now shifting back to Konate and Upamecano.

Both players fit the club’s profile of younger, high-potential centre-backs, and Real Madrid are expected to prioritise these options in their plans for the summer of 2026.

While Bremer remains a player admired by the club’s scouting team, the combination of financial demands and competition from English clubs means that Real Madrid will have to look elsewhere to reinforce their defence.
