A few days after announcing the contract renewal of Vinicius Jr., Real Madrid have officially confirmed that another of their Br azilian gems, Rodrygo Goes, has penned a new deal with the club.
"Real Madrid C. F. and Rodrygo have agreed a contract extension for the player, who remains tied to the club until 30 June 2028," the statement from the club read.
The 22-year-old forward has been with the Merengues since 2019, when he arrived from Santos FC.
Over the past couple of seasons, Rodrygo has grown into a vital player for the Merengues and has now become a permanent fixture in the starting XI this term following the departure of Karim Benzema.
The forward he has made 179 appearances for Real Madrid, scoring 39 goals and winning eight trophies in the process – 1 Champions League, 1 Club World Cup, 1 European Super Cup, 2 La Liga titles, 1 Copa del Rey, and 2 Spanish Super Cups.
Rodrygo’s new deal has been agreed upon for a while now, and the club have finally announced the extension for five years until the summer of 2028.
Like with Vinicius, Rodrygo’s contract is also understood to contain a release clause worth €1 billion.
