Former Benfica winger Angel di Maria is excited to be part of Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid.
The 22-year-old was part of the Argentina side which crashed out in the quarter-finals in South Africa following a 4-0 defeat to Germany.
But the Rosario-born winger is now keen to get started at his new club.
"I am excited to be here and just want it to start," he told AS in an interview. "I am relaxed and will rest during these days before starting pre-season training."
That will see Di Maria work with Mourinho for the first time and the Argentina midfielder is already full of admiration for his new coach.
"I couldn't believe (he wanted to sign me). It's something good for me and also very special at the same time," he said. "I will always be grateful that he said he wanted me to come to Real Madrid. I will try to give everything on and off the pitch to prove he made the right decision to bring me here."
And the youngster is also excited by the prospect of lining up alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka next season.
"With the players that are here it will be very special to play with them all," he said. "I have always watched them on television. It will be very special to play with Cristiano and Kaka."
