Benzema wants to join Perez at Real Madrid

Olympique Lyon striker Karim Benzema favours a move to Real Madrid.

L'Equipe says Benzema is planning to remain with Lyon next season in order to prepare for the 2010 World Cup.

But if he is to leave, Benzema wants to move to Spain and will choose Real over Barcelona - if Florentino Perez returns as president in the summer.

For their part, Barca are willing to offer £35 million plus Eric Abidal in a swap for Benzema at the end of the season.
