Real Madrid winger added to Scaloni’s squad after initial omission.
Franco Mastantuono has been called up to the Argentine national team, just one day after initially being left out of Lionel Scaloni’s squad.
In a late adjustment, Scaloni added Mastantuono alongside Strasbourg forward Joaquín Panichelli, completing the group ahead of Argentina’s final match of their current preparatory tour. The Albiceleste are set to face Mauritania on March 27 at La Bombonera, in what will serve as another key step in their build-up toward the upcoming World Cup.
This late addition could offer Mastantuono a valuable opportunity to integrate with the senior national team environment and potentially earn minutes and match fitness (something not readily available to him at Real Madrid) as Argentina fine-tune their squad ahead of a major international tournament.
With the stage set at La Bombonera, all eyes will be on whether the young Madridista can take the next step and begin carving out a place for himself in the world champions’ setup.
