New Real Madrid right back Danilo has said he knows he is under huge pressure to perform at the biggest club in the world after officially joining the club.
The 23-year-old arrives at the Santiago Bernabeu in a 32 million euro deal from Porto and will challenge Daniel Carvajal for the right back position in the team.
The Br azilian is currently recovering from a knee injury picked up on international duty that ruled him out of the Copa America but should be fit for the tour of Austalia and China later this month.
Speaking to Madrid-based daily, Marca, Danilo said he was proud to join the club he has always supported.
"I was always a Real fan. Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world, of another dimension. I’ve spoken with Benitez on the phone. I told him how my recovery was going, we spoke a bit about the new challenge. It wasn’t much, but it showed me he was concerned about me and that made me very happy."
He added: "Any player should feel very proud of his work if Real Madrid come calling, the biggest club in the world, of another dimension. To play for Madrid you have to be the best. And that has always been my dream."
