Italian and Spanish newspapers have linked the Red Devils with a summer move and El Confidencial this morning reported on which Real Madrid players are for sale this summer.
Star signing James Rodriguez is already being linked with Manchester City and Chelsea whilst Alvaro Morata, Isco, Raphael Varane, Jese Rodriguez and Nacho are also for sale this summer, according to El Confidencial.
23-year-old French defender Raphael Varane has shown glimpses of world class defending but has failed to truly break into the first team since signing for Real Madrid from Lille in 2011.
Typically a starter for France, Varane recently suffered heartbreak after being ruled out of Euro 2016 through injury.
Manchester United have already completed the signing of one La Liga centre back this summer, spending £30m on Villarreal star Eric Bailly.
However, the Reds have long been linked to Raphael Varane and the summer of 2016 could well be their best opportunity to sign him.
