Jese Rodriguez seals move to Paris Saint-Germain from Real Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain have completed their fifth summer signing with Real Madrid winger Jese Rodriguez the latest player to arrive at Parc des Princes.

The 23-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the French champions and joins for a fee reported to be around €25 million.

Jese is the second player former Sevilla coach Unai Emery has signed from La Liga since taking over in Paris and the former Spain under-21 international will boost the Basque's attacking options.

Les Parisiens have already signed Grzegorz Krychowiak, Thomas Meunier, Hatem Ben Arfa and Giovani Lo Celso this summer and Emery is expected to assemble a new-look attack after the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic for Manchester United.

"I am delighted to join Paris Saint-Germain, who have become one of Europe's most competitive clubs," Jese told the club's official website after signing his contract on Monday. "Like Paris Saint-Germain, I have big ambitions for the coming seasons and it will be a great pleasure to work under the direction of Unai Emery, who has developed an excellent reputation in Spain, and across Europe, for his quality as a coach. I can't wait to begin this next challenge of my career."

Club chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi added: "I am very happy to welcome Jesé to PSG. Over the past seasons, he has confirmed his status as one of Real Madrid and Spain's most promising young footballers.

"After playing alongside some great forwards, he has chosen to continue his progression with Paris. His speed and creative qualities will complement our excellent attacking players "

"With Jese, our squad is now, more than ever, armed to confront the coming challenges and meet the expectations of our fans."

Jese was held in high regard at Bernabeu before an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee back in March of 2014 derailed his impressive rise and he even beat Emilio Butragueno's scoring record for Real's Castilla side in 2012-13.

Despite finally being fully fit again last season after his injury, competition for a starting role at Real under Zinedine Zidane meant that Jese was limited to 1,252 minutes of action across all competitions.

He scored six goals and recorded a further eight assists but only made seven La Liga starts and four in continental and domestic cup action combined.
