It's official. Real Madrid and Lucas Vazquez have signed a contract extension that will keep the winger in the club until the summer of 2021.
Vazquez made his return to Real last summer after spending a year on loan with Espanyol and exceeded all expectations being a game changer off the bench. He is not having as many minutes this season, but he is still an important player on Zidane's depth chart.
His work-rate and his ability to dribble past opponents and cross the ball is something valuable in this roster as he is the only pure winger on Real's squad.
Lucas Vazquez will speak to the press at 13:30 CET this Thursday to discuss his new contract.
He joins Luka Modric and Toni Kroos as the players who have signed new deals since the season started. Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are also negotiating their contract extensions, according to some reports from Spain.
