Real Madrid could be in for a mini squad overhaul in the summer transfer window.
Real Madrid have been tipped to sell four first-team players heading into the summer transfer window. Real's No 1 target for this summer is reportedly Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe and the La Liga club would likely have to raise funds to fund a mega-money move for the 21-year-old. Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is also a target of Real but French football expert Julien Laurens claims it would be "impossible" to sign both with the current funds Los Blancos have available to them.
ESPN FC pundit Alejandro Moreno this week was given a list of current Real players and he had to choose if the club should keep or sell them at the end of the season.
Former Major League Soccer star Moreno chose four names Zinedine Zidane should look to move on from the Bernabeu, which are listed below.
Luka Modric
"I think Toni Kroos stays and the reason that he stays is because Modric goes," Moreno said.
"So you've got to have some balance. If Toni Kroos is going to stay, then Luka Modric is going to go and the reason he is going to go is he is getting older and he has become a kind of part-time player for Real Madrid."
"And how quickly he went from being the Ballon d'Or winner to being a part-time player for Real Madrid, the transition has been quick, the slide has been quick and I think he's going to be out of Real Madrid soon."
Gareth Bale
"He's been gone forever, hasn't he?" Moreno continued.
"There's no chance they can keep him again through the summer."
"He's not getting any younger and his fitness in terms of staying healthy has been a question and continues to be a question."
" Zidane's still going to be there, Bale's not going to play. At some point there's got to be a love of playing."
"At some point he's got to go. He's going, I think he's got to go."
Luka Jovic
"He has struggled and yet you feel that the struggles come from the fact that this is not a team that creates a whole lot of chances and this is not a guy who is going to turn on people and go after people and score a bunch of goals, unless those chances are created for him," he added.
"He goes but it's a tough decision."
James Rodriguez
"I don't even know what to tell you about James Rodriguez," Moreno concluded.
"Of course we know that James Rodriguez is at Real Madrid but when they put this list together and you're going through the names, 'oh yeah, James Rodriguez'."
