No Odegaard or Marcelo on the list.
Real Madrid have published their squad list for Saturday’s away match against Alaves, which will be the season opener for both teams.
REAL MADRID SQUAD:
Goalkeepers: Courtois, Lunin and Fuidias.
Defenders: E. Militão, Alaba, Nacho, Odriozola and Miguel Gutiérrez.
Midfielders: Modric, Casemiro, Valverde, Lucas V., Isco and Blanco.
Forwards: Hazard, Benzema, Asensio, Jovic, Bale, Vini Jr. and Rodrygo.
As expected, Martin Odegaard has not been included in the list even though he should be available. The Norwegian midfielder is on his way to Arsenal and the deal could be completed over the next few days.
Other than that, Luka Jovic is ahead of Mariano in Ancelotti’s rotation and Real Madrid still lack depth on their defensive line. Carvajal, Mendy, Marcelo and Vallejo are all out and Miguel Gutierrez will get a good opportunity to prove his worth as a starter.
Ancelotti will also have to find a replacement for Toni Kroos, who is out with an injury and whose presence will definitely be missed.
